Got to be my favorite thing about the internet, keeping those connections going. I joined facebook and found my three best friends from elementary school in about 2 minutes. I would love to get a couple beers with those guys. |

So a big part of what I do at work is look at stuff people think are bugs on our website and see if I can figure out what is going on. I got an email last week from a customer service supervisor who wanted to make sure that the random passwords on our website are really random. They are, you get a series or 8 letters randomly. Someone had called in extremely upset because his random password was very very inappropriate.
The password he received was fistrape. Fistrape! If you gave me 3 hours to come up with the worst 8 letter phrase possible I could not have come up with anything that bad. What are the odds?! |

Maybe the biggest difference in my life post college is my altered perception of time. It certainly travels faster but it is more than that, the thing just feels different. I could imagine some finding this speeding up to be unsettling, what am I doing with my life and all.
I think it is nice mostly, makes time feel more like a tool, something you would use in a chemistry experiment. If you add heat and time to this liquid this happens, if you add time and effort to this activity this happens. |

I have been having a really weird experience recently. I got socked in my face at my Kung-fu class resulting in an enormous black eye. Allen is the fellow who punched me, it was his first time sparring and he was all nervous and did not know what he was doing. We were wearing mma gloves but the man apparently has a good right.
I have never had an enormous black eye before and the thing I thought would be the weirdest was going into work all fight club. I was right that it is weird but it did not play out like I thought it would at all. Of everyone in my office only two people said anything about at all and only one person commented on it directly when they saw me. I expected a lot more “Good God! What happened to your face!” and friendly jostling by office buddies, but no. It was weird, I kind of forgot about it until I was outside work and everyone’s mom was asking me about it. Maybe they did not want to risk starting a conversation about me getting my ass kicked when I was drunk or something while we were in a work environment. Hmm…donno. |
